Temperature steps or localized hot and cold spots within an electrically heated mold cavity directly lead to uneven PET bottle wall thickness or thermal degradation spots, severely threatening the sterile packaging integrity of food and beverages.


The core of eliminating thermal defects lies in the precise control of Joule heating distribution and thermal inertia lag. By calculating the specific heat capacity and glass transition characteristics of PET, we apply a non-uniform discrete layout for the power density (W/cm²) of the heating tubes at the back of the cavity. Paired with high thermal conductivity epoxy potting compound that fills the heat dissipation gaps, the thermal inertia lag during the startup phase is reduced by over 40%. Simultaneously, equidistant heat conduction paths are milled inside the mold shell substrate, ensuring the cavity surface temperature gradient is strictly confined to an ultra-narrow band of ΔT < ±2°C. This thermodynamic temperature uniformity control completely cuts off the physical triggers for material carbonization spots due to localized overheating, or spherulite growth induced by cold zones.
